Pic from my Pre Bday Dinner |
Bonjour à tous et toutes!
Yes I know its been just about three weeks. I'm sorry about the delay, but I got caught up having fun on the weekends among other things ( school work, etc) I knew this was going to happen. I kept putting it off instead of just sticking to my schedule ( once a week, on the weekends.) Nevertheless I am back. I found a window of opportunity to post three week worth of meals, events, and to give
ma famille back in the states an update on our lives in Paris, France. It's bitter sweet how time has flown bye. We're already at the end of March. There's about 7 more weeks left to go before we're back on US soil. Honestly, I miss home. It's very interesting the curve of study abroad euphoria, if you will. At the beginning of the semester everyone is "hype"- excited- about studying and living in a new country. However, after the first two months, the weather worsens and habit set in, and it's slightly boring. In addition, home sickness begins to set in. Then once the weather changes, spirits lift, and it's time to go back outside and explore. Unfortunately, it will be time to go home as well. First arriving into Paris, it was freezing, beyond cold. People say, aren't you from New York? Doesn't it get cold in New York? Yes it does get cold in New York. And since it's cold, I go from Home to School to Church, c'est tout! There's no 5 month deadline for me to discover New York. That's my home. Thus, I avoided doing many things in the frost biting weather, of course with a few special occasions.... there's always exceptions to the rule,
bien sur. Now, because I'm in Paris for only 5 months, I have to suck it up. layer up, and troop through the cold to see sights and live. Even more so, because the weather is getting warmer, I'm out more, just walking around, and living. That was one thing I had missed. Back in New York, I used to walk any and everywhere, not really having a destination in mind. But of course I knew where I was walking. In Paris, I didn't take extensive strolls until I learned the area a bit. I keep to the main roads, I'll keep walking straight until I decide to turn around and go back to point A which is normally my house. At any rate, the end of this program has slowly approached us all here. That means, souvenir shopping, last minute sight seeing and such. The last two weeks the program will end and we'll be travelling to Morocco Two weeks before, Honorable James and the school will be visiting Paris and Rome (
He's telling everyone that it's for the young people but it's really because he misses us and couldn't deal with the reality of not seeing us for 5 months straight... We know the truth). Finally, when we come back, it's time to graduate. Wow! I know! After that, there's the summer and I am already planning with my spirit what I need to do, for me, in the summer. ( I'll leave that vague) So there should be more but because I'm three weeks late ( hahaha sounds like I'm expecting...
NO I AM NOT) I most likely forgot what I wanted to say. Oh yeah, 3 weeks ago, we had two 17 Italian girls come stay with us at our home stay location ( It's like a student factory, in and out ). They are from northern Italy. Very sweet girls. So that's it, I feel a did a great job summing up three weeks.. Until then Stay tune and stay tasty! -Cocabelle
So normally, I'd give a thorough description of meals in order of Monday through Friday, however because this its three weeks overdue that means 12 meals... with the exception of two meals because 1. I forgot to take a picture with my camera and 2. It's a repeat meal. Consequently I'll just post the pictures and I will number them starting from 1. If anyone has a question about that particular meal, leave a comment. And by the way people, can you please leave a comment, some type of feedback. I take what I do seriously, and because I normally type freely I don't go back to reread because time is of the essence. I still have homework , studying to do, with other things. So if I said something that didn't make any sense or was unclear, don't be afraid to leave a little comment and I will go back and make improvements. It's worth knowing. I am gunuinely writing this blog and making these weekly ( supposedly) updates so that you all will know that we're alive and well. Also to share with you my experiences while they are happening. Also it's a good journal format.
